After 27 years in IT and electronic engineering, our MD, Alden Möller decided to have a change of pace.
He purchased a chain of fashion boutiques called Icing, which used ineffective financial and point-of-sale software written over 25 years ago (surprisingly this software is still being sold in the South African market today).
After an unsuccessful search for suitable ERP/POS software, Alden found himself having to write his own software to ensure accurate up-to-the-minute reporting for all his boutiques. A point-of-sale was the first product, which then developed into a full ERP product.
During this time, other traders heard of Alien. Interest was high and many asked if they could try it. Alien was given free to whoever wanted it. The word spread quickly and so Alien became a business before Alden realised it.
Today, almost 9 years later, Alien has become a fully-fledged product serving a host of industries and helping many businesses stay ahead of their competitors.
